Milan secured their first win under Paulo Fonseca, beating Venezia 4-0 at home in Serie A Matchday 4. The hosts quickly took control of the game, making up for their poor performances in the previous matches, and secured a convincing victory in the first 30 minutes.

Theo Hernandez opened the scoring in the second minute, receiving a great backheel pass from Rafael Leão and shooting the ball between the legs of goalkeeper Jesse Joronen. Milan soon doubled their lead after a set piece and a cross from Christian Pulisic. The goal was initially credited to Matteo Gabbia, but was later re-credited to new signing Youssouf Fofana.

Then two penalties were awarded in quick succession against Venezia, the first on Temme Abraham and the second on Rafael Leão. Pulisic and Abraham confidently converted both 11-meter penalties, and for Abraham, as for Fofana, it was the first goal at the new club.

The second half of the game turned into a formality. Venezia managed to score one goal, but it was disallowed due to a foul by Hans Nicolussi at the beginning of the attack. In addition, Nicolussi received a second yellow card and left his team with ten men.

This victory was the first for Paulo Fonseca at the helm of Milan. The team now has five points and is starting to climb from the bottom of the standings, while Venezia with one point remains in last place.
