Review
The match between Dynamo Kyiv and LNZ Cherkasy at the home stadium named after V. Lobanovskyi became the first real home match for Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's team in the new season. Dynamo, which has been playing for more than a month and a half, easily seized the initiative in possession from the first minutes, while LNZ, which recently made a comeback in the game against Lviv's Karpaty, looked exhausted and disorganized.
In the 19th minute, the Kyiv team took advantage of LNZ's defensive mistakes, when Pikhalenok won the ball from Nonikashvili, and then Salihu brought it down in the penalty area. Andriy Yarmolenko confidently converted the penalty, shooting into the upper right corner. Although Yarmolenko later scored again, this goal was disallowed due to Vanat's offside.
LNS tried to get back into the game, creating several moments, in particular thanks to the efforts of Mollo and Yashari, who had the opportunity to shoot at the goal. However, the Kyivians controlled the game and continued to attack until the end of the first half.
In the second half of the match, Dynamo played more pragmatically, trying to maintain the advantage. Despite dangerous moments and constant pressure, Kucherenko, the LNZ goalkeeper, did not allow the Kyivians to double the score. LNZ, for its part, could not create anything significant in the attack, and their leaders did not influence the game.
Thanks to this result, Dynamo won three important points, and in the next round will play against Luhansk Zorya at the same arena. LNZ, in turn, will host Kuznechny Kolos.
