Preview
On September 18, 2024, the Benito Villamarin stadium in Seville will host the third round match of La Liga between Betis and Getafe. Manuel Pellegrini's team will try to build on their first win of the season, while Getafe will be looking for their first win in the current championship.
Betis (Sevilla)
The Sevillians confidently qualified for the Conference League, beating Kryvbas with an aggregate score of 5:0. In the European Cup matches, Betis used the reserve team to focus on La Liga, where they had not been able to achieve victories until recently. After draws with Girona (1:1) and Alaves (0:0), as well as a defeat to Real (0:2), Betis finally won against Leganes (2:0). The goals were scored by Abde Ezzalzouli and Vitor Roque, who is on loan from Barcelona, with Pellegrini's side expected to be looking to continue their winning streak, especially at home.
Getafe
Jose Bordalas' men are yet to win a La Liga title but have been solid defensively, conceding just two goals in four games. Getafe started the season with a 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao and have since recorded two goalless draws against Rayo Vallecano and Real Sociedad. However, they lost 1-0 to Sevilla last weekend, conceding a goal from Jesus Navas. Despite this, the Azulones have continued to show resilient defensive play but need to find a way to improve their attacking output.
