Chelsea secured a 1-0 away win over Bournemouth in the fourth round of the English Premier League thanks to a late goal from Christopher Nkunku.
Bournemouth had a great opportunity to take the lead in the first half when new signing Evanilson earned a penalty after contact with Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez. However, the Brazilian was unable to convert his chance, losing the duel to Sanchez from 11 meters.
The match continued in an equal fight, with chances from both sides. Late in the match, fresh Christopher Nkunku took advantage of a pass from Jadon Sancho, went through the defense and accurately shot past Mark Travers, bringing Chelsea three points. Bournemouth were trying to get back into the game and Enes Unal came close to scoring but Sanchez showed his quality again to save the day.
