Match review
Everton suffered a 3-0 defeat to Brighton in the Premier League. The game took place at Goodison Park and was the debut victory for new Brighton manager Fabian Hurtzel.
Brighton took the lead through Kaoru Mitoma in the first half. Danny Welbeck doubled the lead after the break and Simon Adingra sealed the win late on. Everton suffered further setbacks when Ashley Young was sent off in the 66th minute, ending their chances of a comeback.
Although Everton had an opportunity to reduce the deficit, a potential penalty was overturned after a VAR review, leaving them in a difficult position. It is Everton's third consecutive Premier League defeat in the last three seasons.
