On September 17, 2024, the Allianz Arena in Munich will host a Champions League match between Bayern Munich and Dinamo Zagreb in the first round of the league stage.   

Bayern Munich starts the new season in the Champions League with a home match against Dinamo Zagreb. The Munich team is playing in the group stage of the tournament for the 17th time in a row and is traditionally one of the main favorites. Last season, the team reached the semi-finals, losing to Real Madrid, but in the new season they will try to improve their result under the leadership of new coach Vincent Kompany, who replaced Thomas Tuchel in the summer.

The start of the season in the Bundesliga is going well for Bayern - three wins in three matches. The final match against Holstein was particularly memorable, where the Munich team won 6-1, with Harry Kane scoring a hat-trick. Bayern are confidently aiming to start their Champions League campaign with a win, especially given the support of their home crowd.

Dinamo Zagreb managed to get into the Champions League by overcoming the qualifying round, beating Qarabag with an aggregate score of 5-0. However, Igor Jakirovich's team is not in the best form, having lost to Hajduk in the last match of the Croatian championship, which broke their 23-match unbeaten streak and deprived them of the lead.

The Zagrebians have been unsuccessful in the group stages of the Champions League in recent years, finishing their campaigns in the bottom places. They played against Bayern twice in 2015 and suffered defeats both times - 0-2 at home and 0-5 away. Any positive result in Munich will be a big sensation for the Croatians, but their main task will be to try to adequately resist one of the strongest clubs in Europe.
